\nDear Colleagues,
\nWe would like to cordially invite you to participate in the 6th International
\nConference on Soft Computing and Intelligent Systems, and the 13th International
\nSymposium on Advanced Intelligent Systems, SCIS-ISIS2012, to be held in Kobe,
\nJapan on November 20-24, 2012. SCIS-ISIS 2012 is the flagship international
\nconference of Soft Computing in Asia, that attracts several hundred participants
\nall over the world. We strive to foster an open and lively scientific forum by
\nbringing together researchers, engineers and practitioners with diversified
\nbackgrounds to discuss and disseminate the latest state-of-the-art achievements,
\nthought provoking challenges and potential future directions in many different
\naspects. Our program is designed to maximize feasibility and satisfaction of

\nEnglish is our official language of communication. Asian languages (e.g. Japanese,
\nKorean and Chinese) may be available as a LIMITED assisting service of web announcement
\nand E-mail correspondence. In case of any conflicts, English communication should be
\nconsidered official.
\nOrganized session proposal.
\nInterested organizers should prepare the following information and submit online.
\nAlternatively, our Program Co-chairs (Special Organized Sessions) may contact and
\nask you to consider organizing some session(s) — to assure broad participation from
\nrelated subjects and fields.
\n1. Session title.
\n2. Organizer(s) (name, affiliation and E-mail address).
\n3. List of at least three (3) papers (tentative titles and their authors).
\n4. Presentation mode: oral or poster.
\nFull paper.
\nAuthors are invited to prepare full papers of four (4) to six (6) pages (maybe
\nextended up to eight (8) pages but subject to an additional fee) in IEEE style
\nincluding results, figures, and references. All full papers should be submitted
\nonline. Full papers will be rigorously and competitively peer reviewed. All accepted
\nfull papers will be published in the conference proceedings and archived in IEEE Xplore.
\nPaper awards will be prized to outstanding full papers. In addition, revised and
\nextended versions of selected papers will be invited to post-conference publication
\nsuch as books and special issues of quality journals. For the readability assurance,
\nEnglish proofread service by qualified editors will be available upon requests from
\nthe authors. Full papers may be asked to reduce their length to be short papers
\nwhen necessary.
\nShort paper.
\nAuthors are invited to prepare short papers of two (2) to four (4) pages in IEEE
\nstyle including results, figures, and references. All short papers should be
\nsubmitted online. Short papers will be peer reviewed in a comprehensive manner.
\nAll accepted short papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
\nEnglish proofread service (full papers only).
\nFull papers may be proofread by qualified editors, upon requests from the authors.
\nThis proofread is NOT a part of the peer review, thus is NEVER used for or against
\nthe acceptance decision making. The results will be returned electrically together
\nwith the peer review reports. Authors are responsible to (or not to) reflect the
\nresults together with suggestions from peer reviewers. In case of conflicts, authors
\nshould consider comments from reviewers more so than those from editors. When too
\nmany requests are placed, only selected papers will be proofread.
\nPresentation.
\nAll accepted papers (full and short) will be invited to the conference presentations.
\nAuthors may request their preference from the following:
\n*Oral on-site presentation (available for full papers only).
\n*Oral teleconference presentation (available for full papers only).
\n*Poster presentation (available for both full and short papers).
\nAll authors in an organized session should request the same option in consultation
\nwith the organizer(s). While the program committee will try their best to respect
\nall the requests, please be aware that not all can necessarily be accommodated due to
\nvarious constraints for the conference program development. Presentation awards will
\nbe prized to outstanding presentations.

\nAbout the venue.
\nSCIS-ISIS2012 will be held in Kobe, Japan, well known as the exotic, cosmopolitan
\nport city. The city is surrounded by a rich set of cultures and natures — Kobe beef,
\nKobe sweets, classy foreign residences in Kitano area, Arima hot spring, and Mt. Rokko
\nto list a few — while maintaining their economical and technological significance
\nsuch as headquarters of over 100 international corporations and the world\u2019s fastest
\nsupercomputer (‘Kei’). Well-situated in the heart of Kansai, many historically and
\nculturally attractive sites, including Kyoto and Osaka, are within its proximity and
\neasily accessible with our efficient transportation. With so many things to see and do
\nin the city and surrounding area, it is the ideal location for a few extra days of
\npre- or post-conference recreation. Lastly but not the least, Kobe is safe and cozy
\n— far from the most recent catastrophe if this is your concern. In fact, this is the
\nbest place for all prayers to be united — as the role model of remarkable recovery
\nfrom the previous one. (Ref. approx. distance from Kobe: 30km to Osaka, 80km to Kyoto
\nand to Nara.)
