\nCloud computing has recently emerged as one of the buzzwords in the ICT
\nindustry. Several IT vendors are promising to offer storage, application and
\ncomputation hosting services, and provide coverage in several continents,
\noffering Service-Level Agreements (SLA) backed performance and uptime promises
\nfor their services. While these ‘clouds’ are the natural evolution of
\ntraditional clusters and data centers, they are distinguished by following a
\n‘utility’ pricing model where customers are charged based on their utilisation
\nof computational resources, storage and transfer of data. Whilst these emerging
\nservices have reduced the cost of computation, application hosting and content
\nstorage and delivery by several orders of magnitude, there is significant
\ncomplexity involved in ensuring applications, services and data can scale when
\nneeded to ensure consistent and reliable operation under peak loads.
\nThis workshop is of interest to researchers and practitioners involved in
\ncluster, grid and cloud computing that are now harnessing clouds in their
\nrespective fields to maximise performance, minimise cost and improve the scale
\nof their endeavours.
